Product Description
These aren't as loud and flimsy as space blankets used to be.
This is smaller than a pack of cigarettes and the weight of two rifle cartridges, so there's no reason not to take one.
I informally surveyed a large group outdoor adventurers about their near death experiences in the wild. Amongst those who had almost died in the woods a staggering proportion cited a failure of their rain shell, or lack of a wind breaker as directly resulting in a desperate near-death ordeal. For some it was heat exposure, and this blanket can help with that too.
This has uses aside from protecting you from exposure. You can use it like a sack, a table cloth when proccessing food, a signaling device, or a solar still. Or, cut into pieces it can become gaiters, boot liners, or fishing lures. Really it's just a useful material and better suited for the task than your emergency trash bag.
A space blanket bivy is about 5 degrees more comfortable than a trash bag bivy.
Unfolded size is 4.5 x 7 feet.
