The main feature of this sight is it's flush mounted rear window. If you've ever tried to use a reflex sight in the rain, snow, or dust, you'll immeditaly appreciate the advantage of this design. Currently the only other reflex sights with this feature are Aimpoint units which cost several times more.

This is really a choice optic. Most people will use the included RMR footprint adapter plate for mounting. But this optic has a unique footprint of it's own which lends itself well to direct mounting on flat-topped pistol slides that have been custom cut by a professional pistol smith.
